Out with the old, and in with the new

There will be some old numbers on some new faces this season.

After the Broncos traded away Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall, his former #15 jersey number became available. Yesterday, the Broncos drafted Florida QB Tim Tebow, whom, as you all know, wore #15 in college. "I will wear whatever number they want me to wear," Tebow said. "If that's 15, I'll wear 15. If that's 95, I'll wear 95. I don't really care just as long as I can wear a Denver Broncos jersey." I'm pretty sure Darrell Reid (who current wears #95), wants to keep his jersey number, which he's had since his rookie year with the Colts, so #15 is probably what Tebow will end up with.

Meanwhile, a Pre-Draft trade sent Tight End Tony Scheffler to the Lions, freeing up jersey number 88. Today, at his press conference,
Demaryius Thomas said he plans on wearing jersey number 88 for the Broncos. He wore #8 in college, and Kyle Orton holds that number, so #88 is understandable.
