With their last pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos have selected Eric Olsen, the center out of Notre Dame. Olsen, 6-4, 306 pounds, is the second center drafted by the Broncos in the 2010 draft. The Broncos cut veteran center Casey Wiegmann earlier this offseason, and only had practice squad player Dustin Fry on the roster at the center position, so they were forced to add depth to the position. Olsen is a feisty and aggresive lineman with a powerful frame, who became a starter during his sophomore year at Notre Dame. Charlie Weis called Olsen the "heart and soul" of the offensive line. He will battle J.D. Walton for the starting center position in training camp.
The Broncos already announced that coach McDaniels will hold a press conference during the 7th round, so it seems unlikely that the Broncos will pull of a trade to get more draftpicks.
