On Friday, the Broncos 2010 rookies will take the field for the first time in a minicamp at Dove Valley. Today, they players are arriving in Denver. Defensive back Perrish Cox, tweeted, "Headed 2 denver", WR Demaryius Thomas followed suit, "Off 2 denver I go..", and WR Eric Decker wins the best grammar award, as he even capitalized 'Denver', "Good morning tweeters, on my way to the airport! What's the weather like this weekend in Denver?" When the Rookies take the field tomorrow we'll have full coverage, with photos, videos and more.
The Broncos PR staff has officially released some number changes, and new numbers. Like we've already reported, Tebow - 15, Thomas - 88, and Decker 87. Othere rookies, Zane Beadles: 68
J.D. Walton: 50, Perrish Cox: 32, Eric Olsen: 69, Syd’Quan Thompson: 43, and Jammie Kirlew: 53. Running Back J.J. Arrington picked 26, and seven other players changed their numbers.
You've already heard about Ryan Clady by now. He'll be out for three months, and ready to go in four, if there's no other set backs. Apparently it happened while he was playing basketball last weekend, being 6-6, 325 pounds I imagine he's pretty good, but I doubt he can sink one from half court, backwards. Running Back Knowshon Moreno can. At any rate, Clady needs to save his skill for the field.
I recently wrote up a post about Brandon Stokley over at MHR, you can read it here. He is a class act, and not only a clutch third-down receiver, but a mentor to the younger guys.
If you were wondering why Denver traded up to get two players in the 7th round of the draft a week ago, it was because they, like every other team, are looking for sleepers. DB Perrish Cox could really come up big this season for the Broncos.
The Broncos had linebacker Nick Greisen in for a workout Wednesday and are poised to once again add the veteran to the roster if his knee checks out. He was with the team in 2009, on the injured reserve.
If you missed our interview with Eric Decker, be sure to check it out! He said he is about 65-70% recovered from his foot injury, and he's ready to contribute on offense and special teams.
Many continue to criticize Tim Tebow, while others have jumped on his band wagon, Woody Paige, and Peter King of SI, are all for him. Cartoonist Drew Litton has pointed out the Real upside.
