With the 80th overall pick, the Broncos select: Walton
Next up, with the 80th overall pick, the Denver Broncos have selected J.D. Walton, a 23 year old center from Baylor. Walton, 6-3 / 305 pounds, was a finalist for the 2009 Dave Rimington Throphy, awarded to the best center in college football each year. He started 36 consecutive games from his sophomore season at Baylor. He is ranked the #1 senior center in the country, and often draws comparison to Jake Grove. Walton worked out for the Broncos, but was also drawing a lot of interest from the Atlanta Falcons. He is described as a tough blocker, inteligent, and he shows great leadership and passion for the game.
