Terrell, Steve, and Shannon among '09 HOF Nominees

Former Denver Broncos Safety Steve Atwater (1989-98), Runningback Terrell Davis (1995-2002), Linebacker Tom Jackson (1973-86), Linebacker Karl Mecklenburg (1983-94), Head Coach Dan Reeves (1981-92), Tight End Shannon Sharpe (1990-99, 2002-03) and Corner Louis Wright (1975-86) are the Broncos who made the preliminary list of modern-era nominees.

Over the years I have learned to not get your hopes up, and I was very surprised that last year Garry Zimmerman was inducted even though he was the best of his time. It's awesome that all those great guys finally get their shot at the Hall Of Fame, but don't expect more than one if any to make in the same year. When you do get into the Hall it's the greatest thing ever.

Bruce Smith and Rod Woodson are two other big names that are also eligible for 2009.
