Mario Fannin, the highly touted runningback out of Auburn has signed with the Broncos. This is one of the first blockbuster (if you can really call a UDFA signing that) acquisitions for the team. The Broncos have also reportedly agreed to terms with Patrick Hill, FB, Miami. Scouting Report: Mario Fanning's signing coincides with the announcement that the Broncos have told Correll Buckhalter that he is being cut from the team.
It makes sense that the Broncos would search for a potential backup running back and Fanning is similar in style of play to Buckhalter. They both are elite receivers out of the backfield with solid straight line speed. Fannin has never carried the full-load on a team, which bodes just fine with John Fox as nobody does in his offense. This is without a doubt the Broncos best UDFA signing so far.
