Broncos sign another RB
At the start of the season the Broncos were loaded with Tailbacks. Free-agent signed Michael Pittman, second year back Andre Hall, rookie Anthony Alridge, Ryan Torain, and starter Selvin Young. Now, half-way into the season, Selvin is hurting, and has not really played for a month due to a bad groin injury. And Pittman, Alridge, Hall, and Torain are all on IR. So the Broncos tried Peyton Hillis, and he did a swell job, and is expected to keep seeing some carries though-out the year. Then they brought up from the practice squad P.J. Hope, then signed free-agent Alex Haynes. Hope and Alex I do not see doing anything at all special. They are just filling in roster spots so the Broncos can get though the season. Now don't get me wrong, they may get some TD's and one of them could even start or something, I saying neither of them are long term. And just this morning the Broncos signed a back whom I am pleased with. Now he could be a complete bust, but I doubt he will. In '05-'06 his was our 2 punch in our Mike Anderson 1-2 punch. He had over 2,000 yards and 10 TD's. Yeah your right it is crazy, the Broncos have signed Tatum Bell! He completed a try-out, then was signed. And denverpost reported that he would be ready to go on Sunday against the Falcons. Bell, who is 27, surprisingly started the 2008 preseason as the Lions' No. 1 tailback, but he was then cut by Detroit on September 2nd. I think this is a big signing, and he could play a big part of the Broncos second half of the 2008 season, and even the playoffs. The last few games we have lacked a good running game, and now we could move Peyton Hillis back to fullback, make Bell the tailback, and see what Tatum had left in him. I can't stop thinking about his mind-blowing speed when he catches the corner on a defense. I loved watching him break one and prance down the sideline. Hopefully he'll be able to get back to his old ways.
