Broncos Smash Jets!

For the third straight time the Broncos have won on the road. Rookie's Peyton Hillis, and Eddie Royal played big. Jay Cutler also had a nice day, with 357 pass yards and 2 TD's he totally outplayed Favre, whom had a INT, and no TD's. Hillis got 22 carries and smashed out 129 rush yards, and a TD. He also had another rushing TD, but it was called back because of holding. Eddie Royal had a huge 59 yard touchdown catch, and had 5 catches on the night. The Broncos did a very good job spreading the ball around, 7 WR's caught passes. Vernon Fox got the first TD of his vet career, after snatching a fumble in the first quarter. Elvis showed up again, with a forced fumble, and sack. He now has 4 sacks on the year, and 25.0 sacks in his young career.

(nfl.com reported the following info)

It was over when ... Jay Cutler caught the Jets off guard on third-and-2 in the fourth quarter. With New York's secondary expecting a short passing route, Brandon Stokley was left wide open behind safety Abram Elam for a 36-yard touchdown that gave Denver a 34-17 lead with 9:26 remaining.

Game ball Playing in slick, rainy conditions, Cutler picked apart New York's secondary, completing 27 of 43 passes for 357 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Key stat The Broncos took a 27-14 lead into halftime, scoring 14 points off two Jets turnovers.

Noteworthy Denver's win snapped New York's five-game winning streak. .... Broncos rookie RB Peyton Hillis recorded a season-high 129 rushing yards. He is the first player to rush for more than 100 yards against the Jets this season. ... With 159 total yards, Thomas Jones went over the century mark for the fifth straight game. ... Brett Favre failed to throw a touchdown for the third time this season.

Madden

For years NFL players have been cursed by John Madden, and been named the Madden Cover for sed year. Vick - Jail, Young - Benched, and now Brett, will he loose the Super Bowl? Get hurt? Loose the playoffs? My good bud is here, and he's gonna give you his thoughts on Madden, and when he's done you'll probably think he's some crack pot who don't know anything about football - but he's not...

Yo Gabe here, the first time I played Madden was at a friend's house [I] didn't understand it and was not into football much. But as I hung out with him more I learned more about football. I was able to understand madden alot better. So since then I've played Madden. Madden is all cool and everything but it also has some let downs. When you do a play half of the team is still stand'n around. Still understandable EA is not Advanced enough to be able to make the whole field come to life and they have to keep the price down for people that can't afford them anyway! Right. In Madden you can't do laterals, plus, John Madden is the announcer which really to say the least stinks. Another thing the ratings on the Maddens are not the most accurate things in the world! That's not all but who wants to sit here listen'n to me whine, on to some stuff I like about madden. The truck stick (Hit stick) are nice especially when you are hav'n a bad day on Madden, its like your little cheat stick ;) NFL superstar is pretty cool but I think that they could do a lot better don't take me wrong they did a good job I just think they could do a lot better then they are, make it worth the money you spend on it (overall: ok). One of the questions I get is why I think Madden is the best game out there (Well, Call Of Duty is pretty good). I tell 'em Dude its a football game. Ya know Madden really is the best game, we all complain about it - but we all love it. If you don't got one, go get one! NOW!!

Chargers fall to Colts

Manning and the Colts pulled off a victory with a game-winning field goal with no time left. Vinatieri was 3/3 on the night, and you could say he won the game for the Colts, but really Phillis cost the game for the Bolts.

Have The Broncos Found Their Man?

Since Mike Anderson (and Tatum Bell) Denver has not had a good Pro Bowl worthy back. Ever since we signed Travis Henry things have been down hill. We've had guys that have showed promise, but mainly due to injury the have not been able to finish he season. And you know if you can't stay healthy maybe your not the guy. I don't really wanna talk about today's game, but really take away our bad special teams play, Cutler's two big turn-overs, and dumb penalty's we won the game. But the point is we lost. Anyway, though it all we had a bright spot. #22 PEYTON HILLIS. Remember that name. The last 2 weeks he's started he's had 27 carries, 118 yards, and 3 Touchdowns. Also, this year he has 13 catches, 168 yards and a TD receiving. He is a beast! He has a bruising running style, AND he's brought back something I've and many Denver fans have longed for since the departure of Mike Anderson; The Mile High Salute! This guy shows promise, and as crazy as it seems I so excited after this game. I went from crying to bouncing of the wall thinking about this ROOKIE. I'm excited going into the week, thinking about a road game where we are underdawgs. I like it that way.

Broncos_Raiders

UPDATE: 24-10, COME ON DENVER! 14 bucks and 8 in change to go, we really gotta win this.

UPDATE: 17-10 Raiders, can you believe it? Raider have the on our 30 when the 4th quarter starts. We need to get the ball back.

UPDATE: It's now 10-10, after Peyton Hillis ran it in on 4th down great game - got to go, watching...

It's now 3-0 Raiders, we stopped them 3 times on the goal line, but we called a time out just before their 3rd down play from the 2, and they got another chance and failed, then got a chip shot.

NFL Week 12

Right now the NFL has 4 teams, the Giants leading the NFC, being chased by the Cards, the Titian's who are 10-0, and the Bretts. (Jets). And and then theirs all those Bubble teams. The Jets are playing the Titian's, and the G-Men are playing Arizona. And the common idea is the two teams that win are the two Super Bowl teams. But let's not write off the other Division leaders and bubble teams, we've all too soon forgot'n that the Giants did not win their division, but were just a Wild Card team. Here's how the playoffs look:Image courtesy of Shutdown Corner (Y! sports blog)
I for the most part agree with MJD's idea of what the PlayOffs will look like, seen above. Except one team. The Redskins. Both Atlanta and Dallas are better and one of them will get that Wild Card spot.

John Lynch

John Lynch is gone, and in honor I found some vids. Some have stupid/pointless music, but it's the hits that are what matter. Also, more pics coming...

Would You Like Mustard With That?

Chad Mustard has been signed again, and Nate Jackson is now on IR. (Photo denverbroncos.com)
And by-the-way, the Steelers are playing the Bengals tonight, and we'd like the Bengals to help us out in the AFC and up-set the Steel' Boys. You can watch the game on NFLN or nfl.com!

Broncos 24 Dirty Birds 20

Real quich here;
The Falcons were 4-0 at home coming into the game, and the Broncos were coming off a road win. Peyton Hillis really showed up at tailback scoring 2 TD's and Jay added another score with a pass to Dan Graham. Matt Prater's field goal was our other score. Michael Tuner "BURNED" us twice, but only had about 80 rush yards. Matt Ryan was okay, but he was picked off by our highest paid player (this year) Dre' Bly.
It was a good game, and going home to face Oakland next week should be fun as well...

Atlanta, and back again...

We all know Jason Elam was a Denver Bronco for 15 years, and is now a Falcon. But not many people know that Matt Prater was a Falcon, or where and how we got him.

Elam was drafted by the Broncos in 1993, and the rest is history. He was "Mr. Clutch" since the day he was born. He's owns (well he's tied for) the longest field goal in NFL history - 63 yards. The 3-time pro-bowler as owns 2 Super Bowl rings. This year is 19-21 filed goals for Atlanta. He has made 414 field goals, 623 extra points, and 76 touch backs. Denver will never see a kicker like him again.

On the other hand, Matt was not always a "Clutch" kicker as he is already often referred to now. Prater *Pray-ter* not *Pratter* entered the NFL in 2006, the Lions got him as a collage free agent. He made it all the way through training camp, but then was waived on August 28th. In 2007 he entered the season with the Dolphins, but then was cut. Then he was off to Atlanta, where he was 1-2. Atlanta waived him, then he was back to Miami, only now on the practice squad. Then on December 19th the Broncos got their hands on him. And made him the kick-off guy. This past off-season Jason left, and the Broncos called on Matt. This season he has made 16-of-19 fields. He is 5-5 on field goals 50 yards or longer. And he leads the NFL with 17 kick-offs going for touch backs. He had HUGE shoes to fill, and he filled 'em.

Wednesday Practice - Bell's Back

Wednesday's practice showed good, and not so good. Tony Scheffler was good, and should be fine Sunday. Champ, who eyed his return from a groin injury to be on Sunday, did not practice. Selvin Young did not either. But Tatum Bell did, and Mike Shanahan said this about him: “No, Tatum has played well when he has played here. He has averaged around five yards [per carry] and when you take a look at his production it kind of gives you an idea of how successful he has been as a running back. Obviously we needed somebody that is familiar with our system and our terminology. I don’t think he’s in great football shape yet, but hopefully in a short time he will be.”

What to look for against Atlanta

*How will Foxy do against the Broncos?
*How will Jason Elam do against the Broncos?
*How will Tatum Bell play with his former team?
*Will Selvin Young be able to play?
*How much running action will Peyton Hillis get?
*How will Matt Ryan do?
*Will Denvers 'D' be able to control Atlanta's run game?
