Celebrating 50 Years Of Bronco Football, Fact #30

As we continue to celebrate 5o years of Denver Broncos football, here is today's Bronco fun fact:
Before this years NFL draft, the Broncos had not drafted a running back in the first round since 1985 (Terrell Davis was in the 6th round, and Clinton Portis was a 2nd round pick). In '85 the club drafted Steve Sewell from Oklahoma. Sewell had success in Denver, and appeared in 3 Super Bowls with the team. Yet, the Broncos hadn't drafted a back in the first round since. This April the Broncos drafted Knowshon Moreno 12th overall out of Georgia. And it proved to be a great draft pick. Moreno is on pace to rush for over 1,ooo yards, he has also scored on the round, and receiving. He is a powerful, fast, smart back that is helping the Broncos playoff push. Moreno could be the next great running back in Mile High.
