Stokley fined $25K

Apparently ejecting him was not enough. The NFL is fining Brandon Stokley $25,000 "for making intentional physical contact with a game official during last week’s game against the Eagles, according to a league source." That is complete bogus! Brandon did get mad, and should have been flagged for getting so angry at the ref, but ejecting him, then fining him for an accident, that is going way to far. Stokley was mad and was making an appeal, the ref told Stokley to go the sideline and Stokley swung his arm in unbelief and accidentally hit the field judge. Maybe I'm just bias because I see through Orange and Blue eyes, you be the jury:

Reviewing The Decade: Year 2008

The Broncos finished the 2008 season 8-8 second in the AFC West and missed out on the playoffs for a third straight year. But there were positives from the season; Jay Cutler passed for 4,526 yards and 25 touchdowns. Brandon Marshall had a second consecutive 100 catch, 1,000 yard season. Mike Shanahan found many future stars in the draft that year, players such as: Ryan Clady, Eddie Royal, Peyton Hillis, and Spencer Larsen. Although the Broncos offence was the second best in the NFL in 2008, the Broncos fired Head Coach Mike Shanahan. New Head Coach Josh McDaniels would eventually trade Jay Cutler, and bring in a new Defensive Cordinator - Mike Nolan. The next off season the Broncos signed Brian Dawkins, Darrell Reid, and Vonnie Holliday to help a struggling defense. In the draft Denver selected star running back Knowshon Moreno. A decade after reaching the Super Bowl the Broncos starting to "Clean Up" the franchise, and looked to get back to their winning ways in 2009.

Reviewing The Decade: Year 2007

The year 2007 was the start of bad things to come for the Broncos. The club finished 7-9, and missed out on the playoffs. Jay Cutler finished the year with almost 3,500 passing yards and 20 touchdowns. In the off season, the team signed free agent Travis Henry, who turned out to be a huge bust. Brandon Marshall burst into the spot light with 1,325 yards and 7 touchdowns. Brandon Stokley and Tony Scheffler each scored 5 touchdowns. Elvis Dumervil was coming off a great rookie year, and recorded 12.5 sacks, a sign of great things to come from the sub-6 foot defensive lineman. Denver had many questions after 2007. The future looked bright for the offense, but the defense had lost Al Wilson, and hard roads were ahead for the Broncos.

Reviewing The Decade: Year 2006

Jake Plummer had a good career with the Broncos, but was often inconsistant. Because of that, the Broncos drafted quarterback Jay Cutler. In the 2006 NFL Draft, the Broncos traded their number 15 and 68 picks to select Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler at number 11. Their second pick was tight end Tony Scheffler from Western Michigan. They then used their next pick (acquired from the Washington Redskins) on Central Florida wide receiver Brandon Marshall. The rest of their picks included University of Louisville defensive end Elvis Dumervil, Akron University wide receiver Domenik Hixon, North Dakota guard Chris Kuper, and University of Minnesota center Greg Eslinger. Denver also traded a second round pick for Green Bay Packers wide receiver Javon Walker. In another big move, they traded WR Ashley Lelie to the Atlanta Falcons and received no less than 3rd and 4th round draft picks. Mike Anderson and Trevor Pryce were both waived due to salary cap issues and were subsequently picked up by the Baltimore Ravens.With a revamped offense Jake Plummer went to work, was becnhed after poor play, and Cutler was named starter. The Broncos final record was 9-7, and the Broncos did not qualify for the Playoffs. On New Year's Day 2007, less than 12 hours after the last game ended, second-year cornerback Darrent Williams was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting. He was 24. Just 7 weeks days after Williams died, running back Damien Nash died following a charity basketball game. Jake Plummer retired after being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The killing of Darrent Williams shook the Broncos and all of the NFL. But it had the greatest effect on reciver Javon Walker who was with Williams when it happened. Walker's career has gone down hill since the day of the shooting. We will always remember Darrent Williams. Anything that happened in 2006 has been over shadowed by the death of an amazing young person and football player. "All Ready!"

Reviewing The Decade: Year 2005

The 2005 season was the best season of the decade for the Broncos. The Denver Broncos finished the season 13-3, won the AFC West, and made it to the AFC Championship game. The Broncos defense allowed the second fewest yards rushing in the NFL, while on offense, Mike Anderson, Tatum Bell, and Ron Dayne tallied 2,538 yards from scrimmage and 22 touchdowns. Rod Smith had another 1,000 yard year, and Fullback Kyle Johnson was thrust into the passing game. Johnson only totalled about 170 yards, but scored 6 touchdowns in the process. The defense recorded 27 sacks and 20 interceptions; 8 of the picks came compliments of Champ Bailey. John Lynch had 2 picks and 4 sacks. A new star corner and return man Darrent Williams was introduced to the NFL after being drafted by the Broncos with their first pick. The 2005 season ended with a loss to the Steelers and smashed the Broncos hopes of making it to the Super Bowl after such an amazing year. But hope was restored the next April when the Broncos drafted a new Quarterback.

Reviewing The Decade: Year 2004

The Broncos offense was thriving with new young talent, and in 2004 the club ammped up the defense. The team traded 3rd year back Clinton Portis to the Washington Redskins in exchange for Corner Champ Bailey. Denver then signed free agent safety John Lynch. Along side Trever Price and Al Wilson, Denvers' new defensive play makers were set for a Bronco historic year. In 2004, the Denver Broncos finished 10-6 and again made the Wild Card, only to fall short again. But the season was one not to be forgotten. Jake Plummer had a career year, passing for over 4,000 yards while tying John Elways' single season touchdown passes. The Broncos drafted Tatum Bell with the Redskins pick via the Portis trade. The Rookie Bell and Reuben Droughns combined for 1,957 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns. Rod Smith and Ashley Lelie both passed 1,000 yards receiving and scored 7 times each. The defense recorded 38 sacks and 12 interceptions. With their first draft pick, Denver selected D.J. Williams, and Denver's defense was starting to look like the "Orange Crush" again. People were starting to notice the Broncos, and Mike Shanahan's Broncos were on the verge of a Super Bowl season.

Reviewing The Decade: Year 2003

After making a big splash on the offensive side of the ball by drafting Clinton Portis and already having a dominant defense, Denver made another big offensive move in 2003. The Broncos traded for Arizona Quarterback Jake Plummer, who would lead the Broncos back to the Playoffs. In 2003, the Denver Broncos finished the season 10-6, second in the AFC West, and made it to the Wild Card. New found QB Jake Plummer lit a spark on the Broncos offense that scored 381 points in 2003. Jake "The Snake" finished the year with a 91.2 quarterback rating, while also rushing for 205 yards and 3 scores. Clinton Portis had a second consecutive year with 1,500 yards on the ground, and finished the year with 1,905 yards from scrimmage. Tight End Shannon Sharpe combined with Portis scored 134 points in '03. The Broncos were getting very close to making a Super Bowl run.

Reviewing The Decade: Year 2002

The year 2oo2 was bitter-sweet for the Broncos. The team finished 9-7, second in the AFC West and missed out on the playoffs for the second straight year. Terrell Davis announced his retirement in Pre-Season. In the Broncos final pre season game against the 49ers, Davis walked through the tunnel in uniform, got a standing ovation from the crowd, and gave a final 'Mile High Salute'. It was the end of an era in Broncos history, and a very sad time for the Broncos and their fans. But 2002 was also the start of another running backs career, and it brought hope back to the hearts of Bronco fans. Clinton Portis and Ashley Lelie were the Broncos top 2 draft picks in 2002, and they both made an instant impact on offense. His rookie year Portis rushed for over 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns. Ashley Lelie averaged 15 yards a catch, and became the Broncos new deep threat. With two young offensive talents and a mean defense led by a strong linebacker corps the Broncos were going in the all the right directions.

Reviewing The Decade: Year 2001

The 2001 Denver Broncos season is one they wish they could forget. The club finished 8-8 and second to last in the AFC West, missing out on the playoffs. Fans became frustrated with Brian Griese who tossed 23 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. Terrell Davis had arthroscopic surgery on both knees, which was the beginning of the end of his career. Both Ed McCaffrey and Rod Smith were coming off 100 catch, 1,000 yards seasons, but in 2001 McCaffrey broke his leg in the season opener. The best NFL Wide Receiver duo would never be the same after that. The season was not all ugly, Bill Romanowski and Al Wilson led a defense that racked up 39 sacks. Jason Elam scored 124 points. The Broncos also had another successful draft class, Reggie Hayward and Ben Hamilton would prove to be good draft picks. In 4 years in Denver Hayward recorded 22 sacks, and Hamilton would start 6 straight seasons. The 2001 season was a heart-breaking one, but the next year would see the end of one brilliant running backs career, and the start of another.

Reviewing The Decade: Year 2000

In 2000, the Broncos finished the season 11-5, second place in the AFC West. The season ended after a Wild Card loss. It was the last year the Broncos would play in Mile High. Even without John Elway the club scored 485 points, which was the second most in the NFL. The defense was strong, with Al Wilson, Trever Price, and Bill Romanowski combining for 20.5 sacks. On the offensive side of the ball, Mike Anderson burst into the spot light. Anderson rushed for 1,487 yards and 15 touchdowns. Brian Griese threw 19 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. That years draft class was also stellar. 3 main players the Broncos selected were conerback Deltha O'Neal, linebacker Ian Gold, and tailback Mike Anderson. The year 2000 was a good year for the Broncos, but hard times were to come.

Marshall expected to play Sunday

After Brandon Marshall got hurt and was "limited in practice" fans were concerned about his status. Michael Lombardi of NFL.com is now reporting that Marshall is expected to play Sunday against the Chiefs.

This is good news, but if you ask me this is something small that the media made into a big deal.

Mitch Berger will stay the punter

Earlier today we reported that the Broncos had signed Punter Colquitt. It was assumed that he would be the new kicker, because Berger has been punting very poorly. But today McDaniels stated otherwise;

“Berger is still punting,” McDaniels said. “We never stop trying to improve the team or look, as we move forward here, any way we feel we can add depth to our football team going forward, that’s what we try to do.”

Breaking News: Marshall Hurt At Practice

The Denver Post reports:
"Marshall pulled up, grabbed the back of his leg and took a knee before limping over to talk to head trainer Steve Antonopolous. Marshall was talking to coach Josh McDaniels when the portion of practice open to local media ended."

This is bad news for the Broncos, who are already slim at the wide receiver position. Rookie Kenny McKinly was recently placed on IR, and Royal did not practice today. The Broncos will give a injury report later today. We're all hoping the 'Beast' feels better soon!

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today it happened. What I never thought would Ever happen, happened. Mike Shanahan was fired by the Denver Broncos. Then they brought in Josh McDaniels. One year later everyone wonders, whas it the right choice? I say no. But that's partly just because of how much I loved Shanny. But look at how the season has gone, just about the same thing that happened to the Broncos last year is happening again this year. Another reason I think we should have kept Shanahan for at least one more year is Kyle Orton. Kyle is not the answer. And Shanahan had the offense going in all the right directions, and I think it is clear McDaniels is not as smart as Shanahan when it comes offensive game planning. But then you have to flip it around and look at our new defense. The reason Shanahan was fired was the defense, and Josh McDaniels along with new DC Mike Nolan have installed the 3-4, and that was ingenious. Many a time Shanahan would sign a defensive name free agent just to have him become a huge bust. That has not happened with McDaniels who has signed players like; Brian Dawkins, Darrell Reid, and Vonnie Holliday. I don't think our defense would have been as good if we kept Shanahan. So looking back, if we could have kept Shanahan, made Nolan the Defensive coordinator and made the 3-4 switch, I think everything woulda worked out great. But that didn't happen, and here we are one year later. That's the past, I'm looking toward the future, and the future is; Ryan Clady, Elvis Dumervil, and Knowshon Moreno.

Thoughts On The Pro Bowl Picks

Five Broncos will be going to South Florida in February to play in the Pro Bowl; Bailey, Dawkins, Dumvervil, Clady, and Marshall. But D.J. Williams didn't make the cut. That should be a big a deal as Vincent Jackson not making it. In 15 games this year Williams has 111 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble. He has had a great year, and is a strong force in the middle of the Broncos defense. Another player who deserved a AFC roster spot is Matt Prater. The 25-year-old is tied for the second most field goals in the NFL. He also has about every other kickoff go for a touchback. So why didn't Prater make the Pro Bowl? Because the player he is tied with, Nate Kaeding, has had a Brilliant season. The Charger place kicker's long this year is 55 yards, and he has a 90.6 field goal percentage rating.

The five Broncos who did make it couldn't be more deserving.

Ryan Clady is in his second year, and has already broken sacks allowed records. Clady was totally snubbed from Hawaii last year, and it is great to see him making the Pro Bowl this year. Clady is a complete beast.

Brain Dawkins will be playing in his 8th Pro Bowl this year, which is no surprise to Bronco fans. B-Dawk has 108 tackles, 2 picks, a forced fumble, and a couple fumble recoveries. I would hate to be a back or receiver in the open field with Brian Dawkins. Many of the NFL's best hits of the 2009 season have come from #20 - Dawkins.

Champ Bailey earned his 9th Pro Bowl selection after another season of just doing what he does. Bailey has a forced fumble and 3 interceptions. But what really makes me think he is the best corner in the NFL is his skill in run support. Often Bailey is assigned to the opposing teams best WR, to follow him all day. Yet, he still has 72 tackles, many of them he recorded after shedding a block, and bringing down a tail back in the open field.

Brandon Marshall has had a career year. Marshall is finishing his third straight 100+ catch season. Added to that he has 1,120 yards and 10 scores. Numbers like that will easy get you to a Pro Bowl. What makes his numbers even more impressive is the fact that he did it all without Jay Cutler.

Elvis Dumervil is definitely the most deserving of all the Broncos that are going. Doom has 17 sacks (leads the NFL) and 4 forced fumbles. Dumervil has been underrated his entire career, so I'm very excited that he is finally getting the recognition he should have gotten since his rookie year. In 2007, Elvis piled up 12.5 sacks, but missed out on the Pro Bowl due to Dwight Freeney getting in with his 12.o sacks. In just 44 officially started games, Doom has recorded 43 sacks! He's young, he's amazing, and now he's a Pro Bowler.

Broncos sign Colquitt

Ever since his first game, fans have been complaining about Mitch Berger on our Facebook page. And some have tweeted us that they wanted Britton Colquitt back. We'll Bronco fans, be happy, the Broncos have signed Punter Colquitt to fill the roster spot which was vacated by rookie Kenny McKinley.

This is very good news, I hope he wins the starting job. Go Broncos!

Celebrating 50 Years Of Bronco Football, Fact #34

As we continue to celebrate 5o years of Denver Broncos football, here is today's Bronco fun fact:Although Champ Bailey will go down in the record books as the best Broncos conerback ever, and perhaps the NFL's best, he does not [yet] lead the club in team interceptions. The man who does -- Steve Foley, who recorded 44 interceptions for the Broncos. Bailey is 16 behind Foley with 28 picks for the Broncos. Champ does have 43 career interceptions, and 6 forced fumbles. Both players had brilliant careers, congrats to Champ on just earning his 9th Pro Bowl.

Herb Taylor Added To Active Roster

With Russ Hochstein placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury against Philadelphia, tackle Herb Taylor has been added to the team’s 53-man active roster to provide the Broncos with depth on the offensive line.

5 Broncos Make Pro Bowl

Five players will represent the Broncos in the 2010 Pro Bowl, the league announced on Tuesday.
Champ Bailey, Ryan Clady, Brian Dawkins, Elvis Dumervil and Brandon Marshall have all earned spots in the annual all-star game, which will be played on Sunday, Jan. 31, at Dolphin Stadium in South Florida at 5:30 p.m. MST and will be televised by ESPN.Clady, Dumervil and Dawkins have been named Pro Bowl starters, while Bailey and Marshall made the squad as reserves.A three-pronged equation propelled those five Broncos to the AFC's Pro Bowl squad, as each conference's roster was determined by consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each group's vote counted one-third towards determining the respective Pro Bowl rosters.

Russ Hochstein and Kenny McKinley to IR

Josh McDaniels announced Monday that Hochstein and McKinley will be placed on injured reserve. Both players hurt their knees against Philadelphia. Ben Hamilton will most likely get his old job back filling in for Hochstein. But it is not clear who will be doing kickoff returns for the Broncos after McKinley's injury. Last week Buckhalter filled in before being injured himself. Rookie Alphonso Smith, and Eddie Royal are very capable of returning, star receiver Brandon Marshall also has a little experience.

This is sad news, but last week Ben Hamilton looked much better than he did earlier in the year, and the Broncos have many options in the return game.

Celebrating 50 Years Of Bronco Football, Fact #33

As we continue to celebrate 5o years of Denver Broncos football, here is today's Bronco fun fact:

Terrell Davis is the Broncos all time leading rusher, from 1995 to 2002 he rushed for 7,607 yards. Davis also was league MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and rushed for 2,000 yards in one season. We give Mile High Salute to a career of greatness.

The Broncos Have Depth In Skill At WR

The Broncos went to Philly Sunday without Eddie Royal dressing for the game due to injury. Then Brandon Stokley was ejected, and Kenny McKinley got hurt. And that left Brandon Marshall, Jabar Gaffney, and Brandon Lloyd. And of course Tony Scheffler, who is very capable of playing the wide receiver position as well as tight end. It looked as if the Broncos passing game would not be as effective, but it was. No-name Lloyd made some key catches, and gained 22 yards, Marshall was Marshall catching 8 balls, and a 'surprise' was Gaffney. I don't know why people didn't notice his talent earlier in the season, now many are jumping onto the Jarbar band wagon. The former Patriot caught 7 passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns. While Orton passes for 3 scores. And all this happened, without key third down wide receiver Brandon Stokley. With just three wide receivers healthy the Broncos still had a good passing game. The Broncos have some good WR's and they have very good depth, as far as skill goes.

Knowshon's Quest For 1K

Entering week 15 Rookie Running back Knowshon Moreno looked like he was well on his way to rushing for 1,000 yards on the season. With 837 yards in the first 14 games Knowshon needed less than 200 yards in the last three weeks, but after only gaining 42 yards against the Colts, and 18 in Philadelphia Moreno only has 897 yards. And it now looks like 1,000 yards may not be so realistic, considering six times this year he has not even rushed for 50 yards in a game. Knowshon needs 103 yards against Kansas City on Sunday to reach 1,000. Moreno has many critics, and for good reason, he's fumbled 4 times, and has really struggled on short yardage runs. But the young back shows promise, he has won Rookie Of The Week 4 times, and he has scored 5 times on the ground, while adding 2 catches that went for touchdowns. Moreno also has good moves, speed, and power, 3 skills that are not often all found in the same back. In week 13 against the Chiefs Moreno rushed for 85+ yards and 2 TD's. Here's to Moreno, we're all hoping he'll reach the 1,000 mark.

In 2004, Bronco Quarterback Jake Plummer passed for 4,089 yards and set a club record for most passing yards in a season. He also tied John Elway's record of 27 Touchdown passes in a single season.

Blame SI

When a sports team starts to have an epic failure fingers start to point. Broncos Zone is pointing our fingers at Sports Illustrated. The Broncos started 6-0, and made the SI cover, but since then we've all had some Déjà vu. The Broncos are 8-7, and need some help from other teams to make the playoffs. Only a jinx could have turned a team around like the Broncos have.

Public Letter To Roger Goodell

The Broncos fell to 8-7 on the season after a 30-27 loss to the Eagles. It was the worst reffed game I've ever seen. Since Goodell is such a fan of fining people, I have written a letter to him:

Dear League Commish,

I would like you to fire, fine, banish, embarrass, and penalize all the refs that officiated the Broncos @ Eagles game. Thank you very much for you time,

Sad excuse for 'More On The Game'

If you watched the game yesterday I'm sorry. Because I did and it practically destroyed my whole Christmas. If you didn't get to see the game and want to read about it, you can at DenverBroncos.com. Because all I'm going to do is vent.

Elvis Dumervil and the whole D-line, you fail! We played the Oakland Raiders and you didn't even get a sack till the 4th quarter! They got some pressure, especially Doom, but never wrapped up the quarterback and the Raiders moved the ball. It was horrific.

And O-line you get a big Fail. None of our backs had anywhere to go, At All.

And Knowshon Moreno! What's up with you? You played the Oakland Raiders and didn't even get 50 rushing yards!

And Josh McDaniels, you, you are now on my retard list. All NFL teams watch film before they play their next opponent. The Oakland Raiders watched film on the Broncos, and concluded this:

On first down they run up the middle with Moreno and get 1 or -3 yards. On second down Orton runs to the right then throws back across the field to Daniel Graham, Moreno, or maybe even Clady. Then, on 3rd and long the Broncos do a wide receiver screen. Sometimes they mix it up and do a slant to Marshall. MCDANIELS, YOUR PLAYCALLING YESTERDAY WAS RETARDED! When was the last time the Broncos threw the football when they were inside the 2 yard line? Answer: 2008. Another thing, why the heck use aging LaMont Jordan over a young, fresh, Peyton Hillis? The Broncos have so many questions. And lots of finger pointing. If you play Fantasy Football, draft Matt Prater, because the Broncos can't get into the end zone.

NFL Players Should Consider Wearing Belts

National Football League apparel has come a long way. Hardly any corners or wide receivers wear thigh pads anymore, and nobody wears the kind of pads you see midget football players running around in. And now NFL fans have discovered that some don't even wear boxers.Sorry if you were offended, thankfully some players DO wear compression shorts.

Though thy have been one of the most successful NFL teams since the 1970 merger, the Broncos were not successful in their AFL days. They did not post a winning record in the 10-year history of the league. Their high-water mark was a 7-7 season in 1962.

Missing Jay Cutler?

In the off-season Josh McDaniels was criticized for trading Jay Cutler for Kyle Orton, but after how this season has gone for both QB's McDaniels doesn't look so bad anymore.

The Raiders Have A Sticky QB Situation

The Oakland Raiders travel to Denver this week to play the Broncos. Earlier in the year they lost 23-3, after JaMarcus Russell tossed 2 interceptions, and added to his career sacked total. Since then (well, actually since he was drafted) JaMarcus has gone down hill. In 9 games Russell passed for 2 touchdowns, thrown 10 interceptions, was sacked 30 times, and fumbled 7 times. After the Raiders decided losing was not so fun they made then back-up Bruce Gradkowski the starter. Gradkowski was a very pleasant surprise for Oakland. Though he only started in 4 games, Bruce accounted for 6 scores, against 3 interceptions, he also passed for over 1,000 yards. But last week Gradkowski suffered a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee and a partially torn MCL in his right knee. And it will be no surprise if he can't play Sunday. So do the Raiders go back to JaMarcus? Okland's "3rd-String" QB is Charlie Frye, who has had his ups and downs in the NFL. Then just yesterday, the Raiders singed quarterback J.P. Losman. Losman may actually be Oaklands best option, even if he just arrived. J.P. just finished a season with the UFL, and is in "football shape". Losman is probably just a emergency option, and this is either a sign that Gradkowski is going to injured reserve, or JaMarcus is going to be out of a job. The Raiders are expected to announce a starting quarterback for Sunday today. This should be interesting.

Marshall Honored

For his record-breaking performance against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14, Brandon Marshall will be named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. It is the second time in his career he has earned the award. His 21 receptions set a new NFL single-game mark, and gave him 86 on the year. Marshall set another NFL record in the game, recording the most 10-plus-catch games — eight — in a player’s first four seasons in NFL history.

He now owns two of the top four single-game receiving totals in league history — he caught 18 passes in last season’s home opener against San Diego. He also earned the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award after that performance. His 21 catches against the Colts went for 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns, upping his season totals to 1,008 and 9, respectively. This is Marshall’s third consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season.

Marshall’s award represents the fifth time a Broncos player has won the weekly honor this season, joining Champ Bailey, Kyle Orton, Eddie Royal and Matt Prater.
This week, the Oakland Raiders head to INVESCO Field at Mile High. Earlier this season, Marshall caught five passes for 67 yards and a touchdown against the division rival.

McBath to IR, Fox back

The Broncos received sad news yesterday, rookie safety Darcel Mcbath will be out the rest of the season. McBath broke his forearm against the Colts. Going into Sunday's game McBath led the club in special team tackles. He also had two interceptions on the year. To fill in for McBath, the Broncos signed Vernon Fox. The veteran will get a chance "right away" to fill in said McDaniels. Fox made some good plays last year in Denver, and looks to take advantage of playing again.

“If Vernon can do that right away, which I have confidence in him - he’s a very bright person and understands that role very well - if he can do that for us, that would help us not have to juggle a bunch of balls in the air and move everybody around to try to get that accommodated,” McDaniels said. “We’ll see how fast we can get that done, but that’s part of Vernon’s versatility that we’ll look forward to.”

Marshall has huge day, but in a losing effort

Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall had 21 catches for 200 yards and two touchdowns. He broke Terrell Owens record of 20 catches in one game. But the huge game came in a loss. Denver killed themselves in an sad game to watch. Go Cowboys!!!
