Well, yes, the Rams (Los Angeles Rams then) were 9-7, back in '79. And, they also won the NFC West Division. They made it to Super Bowl XIV (14), but lost to the Steelers 31-19.
So yes, what the Broncos are trying to do has happened. (Besides the fact that the Rams lost, and the Broncos goal is to win). But, we really should not be worrying about this kind of stuff, we should just worry about getting into the playoffs.
