Broncos start to trim down to 53
(from denverbroncos.com)
The Denver Broncos on Saturday made several transactions to reduce their roster to the 53-man limit, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced.
The club waived 17 players while placing running back Anthony Alridge (left foot) and fullback Cecil Sapp (left quadriceps) on its reserve/injured list. Denver also moved tight end Brett Pierce (left ankle) to its waived/injured list.
Beginning Sunday, the Broncos can establish a practice squad of up to eight players.
The following 17 players were waived by the Broncos on Saturday: guard P.J. Alexander, safety Josh Barrett, linebacker Jordan Beck, defensive end Larry Birdine, cornerback Wale Dada, guard Mitch Erickson, guard Dylan Gandy, quarterback Darrell Hackney, defensive tackle Steven Harris, wide receiver Glenn Martinez, wide receiver Marquay McDaniel, tight end Chad Mustard, punter Sam Paulescu, cornerback Tyrone Poole, wide reciever Clifford Russell and safety Vikiel Vaughn.

Well, I never really saw anything in Glenn. But about Darrell I am kinda mad. And Cecil is on reserverd/injured so like he’s not totally gone yet. I think? Jorden Beck I thought was nice on ST. But we got other good guys on special teams so. I thought it was dumb that we picked up Tyrone Poole then just cut a little later.
