Broncos Back At Practice

After a long weekend, the Broncos were back at practice today. The Broncos never won in Arrowhead in December with Shanahan as the coach, so this is a good change for McDaniels to do something [good] that Shanny never did. Prater's Performance Earns Honor

Matt Prater will be named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, the Broncos learned on Tuesday, for his Week 12 performance in a 26-6 victory over the New York Giants. Prater connected on all four of his field goal attempts (26, 32, 47, 24) in Thursday’s Thanksgiving night matchup and sent all seven of his kickoffs into the end zone, resulting in a career-high five touchbacks. Ironically, just a short time before the Broncos announced that Prater won the award, the Falcons released former Bronco kicker Jason Elam. I don't know if this is the end of the road for the 39-year-old, but I'll always have respect for him. Congrats on a great career, see you in the Hall Of Fame.

Vote For Knowshon Moreno For Rookie Of The Week!

After his performance on the ground in Week 12, Knowshon Moreno has once again been nominated for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week award, the NFL announced on Tuesday. Through his first 11 games on the pro circuit, the University of Georgia product leads all rookies in rushing attempts with 161 and rushing yards with 688. Moreno won the weekly award in back-to-back weeks earlier this season, being named Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week following Week 4 and Week 5, respectively.

As we continue to celebrate 5o years of Denver Broncos football, here is today's Bronco fun fact:

Running back Floyd Little played nine seasons for the Broncos and, surprisingly, had only one 1,000-yard rushing season. That came in 1971, when his 1,133 yards led the NFL.
